How To Activate The Missing dll Files

How To Activate The Missing dll Files

DLL's (dynamic link library),
basically a combination of executables files that can be used by
Windows programs to run properly.
Some time you received a sudden pop-up message "System could not fine this DLL file" for
example binkw32, maxkernl.
Normally you received these types of messages when you installed any new application,
computer driver program and some time due to computer mishandling.
Actually some DLL files are deactivated due to new software's installation but don't worry
you can reactivate these file with the help of a simple command called Regsvr32.

To activate the missing dll file go the Start then Run and type here
"regsrv32 with missing dll file name" for example you missed "urlmon.dll"
file then you will type in Run "regsvr32 urlmon.dll"
and press Ok button.
Your system will activate this missing file and hopefully you will not get
this missing message again.

For a Safer, faster XP Close Unwanted Services

To disable unneeded startup services for a safer, faster XP, use the "Services" Admin Tool (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services). If you are a single user of a non-networked machine, you can disable the following items, with no ill effect.

Alerter
Clipbook
Computer Browser
Fast User Switching
Human Interface Access Devices
Indexing Service (Slows the hard drive down)
Messenger
Net Logon (unnecessary unless networked on a Domain)
Netmeeting Remote Desktop Sharing (disabled for extra security)
Remote Desktop Help Session Manager (disabled for extra security)
Remote Procedure Call Locator
Remote Registry (disabled for extra security)
Routing & Remote Access (disabled for extra security)
Server
SSDP Discovery Service (this is for the utterly pointless "Universal P'n'P", & leaves TCP Port 5000 wide open)
TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
Telnet (disabled for extra security)
Universal Plug and Play Device Host
Upload Manager
Windows Time
Wireless Zero Configuration (for wireless networks)

Delete An Undeletable File

Delete An Undeletable File

Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open.
Close all open programs.
Click Start, Run and enter TASKMGR.EXE
Go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe.
Leave Task Manager open.
Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory the AVI (or other undeletable file) is located in.
At the command prompt type DEL where is the file you wish to delete.
Go back to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell.
Close Task Manager.

Or you can try this
Open Notepad.exe
Click File>Save As..>
locate the folder where ur undeletable file is
Choose 'All files' from the file type box
click once on the file u wanna delete so its name appears in the 'filename' box
put a " at the start and end of the filename
(the filename should have the extension of the undeletable file so it will overwrite it)
click save,
It should ask u to overwrite the existing file, choose yes and u can delete it as normal

Here's a manual way of doing it. I'll take this off once you put into your first post zain.
1. Start
2. Run
3. Type: command
4. To move into a directory type: cd c:\*** (The stars stand for your folder)
5. If you cannot access the folder because it has spaces for example Program Files or Kazaa Lite folder you have to do the following. instead of typing in the full folder name only take the first 6 letters then put a ~ and then 1 without spaces. Example: cd c:\progra~1\kazaal~1
6. Once your in the folder the non-deletable file it in type in dir - a list will come up with everything inside.
7. Now to delete the file type in del ***.bmp, txt, jpg, avi, etc... And if the file name has spaces you would use the special 1st 6 letters followed by a ~ and a 1 rule. Example: if your file name was bad file.bmp you would type once in the specific folder thorugh command, del badfil~1.bmp and your file should be gone. Make sure to type in the correct extension.

Clean Your RAM & Make Your Comp Speed Better

Clean Your RAM & Make Your Comp Speed Better

Clean your RAM

You may recognize that your system gets slower and slower when playing and working a lot with your Desktop or a laptop. That’s because your RAM is full of remaining progress pieces you do not need any more.
Open the notepad and type

FreeMem=Space(64000000)
In this file and save it as RAMcleaner.vbs [ You should choose the “All Files” option when u save it ]

Run the file and your RAM may be cleaned
Of course u can edit the code in the file for a greater “cleaning-progress”.

FreeMem=Space(128000000)

Just try it out.. it worked for me. Post your comment here if it worked for you !

Change the icons of Drives

Change the icons of Drives

Change the icons of Drives
All the Xp users would have been bored by the boring icons in their My Computer panel which are adjacent to the Hard disk drives(C:,D: or whatever drive letter you have).

Here is a simple tweak by which you will be able to change this monotonous icon to anything you like, even your own Picture if you wish

You can put any image in place of one which I have shown, even the picture of your favourite celebrity or your dream caror your own Picture.

Here are the steps you need to follow:

1.First of all the picture you want to use should have .ico extension(if you already have a pic with .ico extension proceed to step 2).Most of the pictures we normally use have extensions like .jpg,.bmp,.png..gif etc, so you first need to convert them to one with .ico extension. This is simple.Just go here and put your original image in the 'Source Image 'section, then click on 'Generate Favicon.ico ' button to get your image with .ico extension.

2.Now go to My Computer.Suppose you want to put this icon in place of your original C: image.

Double click and enter C: .Paste your .ico image file in it.Also create a new text file and in it type the following lines:
[autorun]
ICON=favicon.ico

Remember that 'favicon.ico' in the second line is the name of your image file.If you have an image file with .ico extension by the name of 'abc.ico',then use that in the second line in place of 'favicon.ico'.

3.Now rename this text file as ' autorun.inf ' (without the quotes).

Important Note:How do I rename my text file as autorun.inf ?Ans.Go to Tools->Folder options.Under the View tab uncheck the 'Hide extensions for known file types'.Press apply. Now rename your text file as 'autorun.inf'.

4.Now restart your Pc.You are done.Check out the cool new picture you have just added in your My computer panel.
